As a school or MAT, you need your senior team to work really well together, thinking strategically, managing effectively and addressing your organisational challenges in creative ways that align with your overall vision and ambition. But of course, every organisation, every team and every individual is different, which is why so many generic team development programmes fail to have a lasting impact.

Synergi is a bespoke development programme for school and MAT leadership teams. It follows a proven structure but the focus of the work emerges from the team’s specific needs as we find them. Part team coaching, part workshop, it is designed to enable the members of your team to interact and combine in ways that produce a total effect far greater than the sum of the individual parts.

Based on the successful ‘creating the team edge’ model that emerged from Henley Business School, grounded in proven methods from the fields of group dynamics, team effectiveness and leadership, and facilitated by an experienced and accredited team coach and organisational consultant, Synergi develops the seven key characteristics of successful and high-performing teams. Delivered through six immersive and experiential team coaching sessions, the programme will build your team’s collaborative capacity, addressing the relational and emotional dynamics that can sometimes undermine performance.

Programme

PRE-COURSE - team 360 diagnostic.

SESSION 1 - half-day face-to-face event, debriefing the diagnostic & developing your team’s purpose. You will leave with a purpose statement that captures what the team exists to do and how its work relates to the aims of the organisation as a whole.

SESSION 2 - 3 hour online workshop, focused on your team values & beliefs. You will leave with a clearer idea of the team culture you value and desire, and some commitments to one another around the behaviours and standards that underpin it.

SESSION 3 - 3 hour online workshop, building your team identity. You will leave with agreement about the unique identity that motivates and binds the team together, and ideas for how to ‘promote’ that identity both inside and outside the team.

SESSION 4 - 3 hour online workshop, raising awareness. You will leave with a greater awareness of one another’s strengths, weaknesses, motivations and intentions, and an understanding of how to leverage these for the benefit of the team as a whole.

SESSION 5 - 3 hour online workshop, developing relatedness. You will leave with a greater capacity for the type of open and honest conversations within the team that build trust and enable greater performance.

SESSION 6 - half-day face-to-face event, exploring ways of working & transformational capacity. You will leave with improved methods and processes for holding meetings and making effective decisions, and with a plan for continuous improvement based on evaluating impact.

EVALUATION - 1 hour online session to review, commit & close.

Other options are available, including a focus on specific areas, different delivery methods and additional or alternative diagnostics. Through discussion, we may find that your needs are best met with team coaching.
